Boston Road Residences

This project involved a request from the project sponsor, 1880 Boston Road Apartments, LLC, for construction financing through HPD’s Senior Affordable Rental Apartments (SARA) Program to facilitate the development of a residential addition to an existing community facility building in the East Tremont neighborhood of the Bronx. The project sponsor proposed to purchase the unused development rights above the existing building in order to construct an eight story, residential addition to the existing building that would consist of approximately 168 residential units (approximately 101 one-bedroom units and 66 studio units), of which 167 would be affordable housing for seniors and 1 two-bedroom unit would be set aside for a building superintendent. NPV prepared the CEQR Environmental Assessment Statement and NEPA Environmental Assessment for a proposed supportive housing and low income housing development at 1191 Boston Road in the Bronx. The EAS required noise assessment, a Tier 1, 2, & 3 shadow analysis, and an industrial source pursuant to the CEQR Technical Manual and CEQR requirements. NPV also prepared the Phase I ESA for the project.
