Manorhaven/Sheets Creek Beach

A NYSDOS funded and joint NPV/N+P project to design shoreline improvements, identify and implement long term solutions to restore an intertidal vegetative fringe within the tidal creek adjacent to the Park, create and improve public access along the shoreline, stabilize the existing parking area, seek remedies to improve the outer beach, and maintain a functional boat ramp with adequate water depths.  The project included preparation of three design options for shoreline and intertidal marsh restoration and a public walkway (an extension of the Manhasset Bay Trail), as well as the preparation of an engineering feasibility analysis and construction cost comparison for each of the options.  Stormwater improvements within the parking area as well as boat ramp design were also developed.
